Who Can Vote in General Conference/Jurisdictional Conference delegate elections?

Lay Members:

  • You are eligible to vote if you are a lay member from a congregation, or a lay member at large from a district. 

Clergy Members:
You are eligible to vote if you are:

  • a retired elder or deacon in full connection with the East Ohio Annual Conference. 
  • a current serving elder or deacon in full connection with the East Ohio Annual Conference. 
  • a licensed local pastor who has completed a M.Div. or course of study and have served a minimum of two years of consecutive service immediately preceding the election. (If you’ve been serving full or part time since July 2017.)
  • a provisional elder or deacon who has completed all your educational requirements. 
  • an associate member. 

You are not eligible to vote if you are: 

  • a licensed local pastor but you have not finished a M. Div. or course of study, and/or you have not served the minimum of two years of consecutive appointment immediately preceding the election. 
  • a provisional elder or deacon but you have not yet completed your educational requirements you are not eligible to vote.
